IMAGO by The Butterfly Effect

Modern rock Aussie band The Butterfly Effect has topped charts overseas with their sophomore album IMAGO. Their recent release in the U.S. with San Marcos-based Captiva Records has prepared them to take over foreign territory.
Imago is a follow-up to their debut album Begins Here, which was released in 2002 and gained the band the #23 spot on the ARIA Australian Album Charts IMAGO debuted in the #2 spot and gained Australian gold status in only eight weeks.
The band’s sound is comparable to Breaking Benjamin’s We Are Not Alone, however they are most often related to Tool.
This may not come as a surprise since they are produced by world famous Joe Barresi, who also works with Tool and Queens of the Stone Age.
Through their similarities, the Butterfly Effect manages to keep a unique style and produce music which even the toughest critics have come to love. “Sophisticated, brooding and dreamy, IMAGO is dazzling,” said Robyn Doreian of Rolling Stone Australia.
IMAGO’s first single “Gone” is a good, radio friendly and original start for the bands exposure in the U.S. Another great track that is distinguishable from the millions of rock songs floating on the airwaves is “In a Memory.” The Butterfly Effect is ready to take over America, and will be touring with Chevelle in 2008.
The single “Gone” was featured on the PMC Top10 as a bonus track as well and marks the band’s first track released into the podcasting scene.
