Families asked to remove unsanctioned ‘personal items’ from city cemetery

The city’s parks department, cemetery commission and staff will begin a major cleanup of the San Marcos City Cemetery the first full week of October, removing items from burial places that do not conform to city rules or that have become unsightly.

San Marcos singer-songwriter Terri Hendrix and Bulverde musician-producer Lloyd Maines — father of the Dixie Chick’s lead vocalist — will perform a free outdoor concert Thursday, Aug. 7.
