San Marcos officials announce downtown 'charrette'

San Marcos officials are holding a series of public meetings next week to work on a downtown redevelopment code. The four-day "charrette" is supposed to lead to a specific downtown development code, or “SmartCode” that folds zoning, subdivision rules, urban design and architectural standards into one redevelopment document.
