Commission to host fourth San Marcos Arts Advocacy Reception

The San Marcos Arts Commission will host the San Marcos Arts Advocacy Reception 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 at the The Price Center, 222 W. San Antonio St. to celebrate National Arts and Humanities Month.

Prehistoric bones discovered at Spring Lake

Prehistoric human remains were found in San Marcos during a construction project about a month ago. The bones are probably from a single individual, said Texas State archaeologist Jon C. Lohse.

Texas State's Ballet Folklorico Ocotochtli will host the “Texas and México: Bailes, Platicas and Talleres” dance symposium Saturday at the Evans Liberal Arts Building on the campus. The events are free and open to the public.
