Study: Hays County doesn't need new jail

A study commissioned by Hays County commissioners said the county doesn't need an entirely new jail. Instead, the study said the county should add beds to the existing jail and develop alternative means of bonding, docketing and supervision to manage its inmate population.

CenturyLink back-bills Hays County $175,000

CenturyLink is back-billing Hays County $175,000 after a five-year agreement between the parties expired and the county went elsewhere for enhanced telecommunications services. The county said it is looking into the legitimacy of the charges.
