Don't worry about the crane flies. The weather is fair and there is baseball in the air. Also pies and cupcakes, and hikes to help you work them off. Theater and a little taste of the mysterious continent of Africa is also proffered. Or you could watch the dervish-like whirling of that local visitor.

Tanger Outlets contributes to Miller, Goodnight junior highs

Michelle Carswell, the Tanger Outlets general manager, presented checks to Goodnight and Miller Junior High Schools as part of the Tanger Bucks project. Goodnight earned a check for $1,205, and Miller Junior High received $5,065.

Fabien Yssac Mendoza, a student at Goodnight Junior High School, is a published author. His poem — "One and Only"—was included in Diverse Youth 2008, a publication from the Anthology Austin International Poetry.
