Developers of a $28.5 million apartment complex project in downtown San Marcos may receive a one-year extension on an economic development agreement with the city, and thereby remain eligible to receive up to $610,000 in forgiven property tax.

San Marcos City Council members on Tuesday postponed action on a request from the Master's School for five more years to repay a $345,000 economic development loan granted by the city in 2008.

San Marcos City Manager Jim Nuse said Thursday that the city hasn't rebated any sales taxes to StoneCreek Crossing under a $6 million development agreement signed in 2008. The StoneCreek property now is in foreclosure.
