College Access Project Summer Camp at Texas State University

The Center for P-16 Initiatives at Texas State University to hold 4th annual Summer C.A.P. Camp June 10th-June 20th.

The College Access Project (C.A.P) Camp is a summer boot-camp for high school Juniors and Seniors dedicated to college access and success. The camp for incoming juniors is one week in duration, and the camp for incoming seniors is two weeks.

C.A.P. Camp participants will gain an understanding of college applications, financial aid, admission essay topics, SAT/ACT preparation, life as a college freshman, and a variety of academic and professional aspects to help them prepare for life after high school.

Participants will also grow in knowledge and confidence in order to complete the required steps to gain acceptance into the college or university of their choice.

The camp is absolutely free, and space is open for a total of 20 juniors and 20 seniors on a first come first serve basis.

The C.A.P. Camp will be held on the Texas State University campus during the following dates:

Junior Camp – June 10-14th, 2013
Senior Camp – June 10-20th, 2013

Nature Camp: Camp Apache

Campers will explore Native American history, lore, games, traditions and art, and go back in time to a historic Hill Country farm to learn about how early settlers farmed the land on the edge of civilization. The non-profit Cibolo Nature Center & Farm’s Nature Camp is state-licensed and provides children ages 6 to 12 with an up-close, hands-on nature education. Art Camp: Sculpture Week

Campers will create art from found objects, creating collages and 3-D forms, and experiment with media like balsa wood, wire, paper-mache and air-dry clay – using the landscape to inspire organic and natural art.
