STAFF REPORT

Hays County deputies have arrested a man in connection with a November robbery of a Dripping Springs grocery store.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) arrested Richard Falcon, 25, of Dripping Springs on Dec. 15 on a charge of aggravated robbery, a first degree felony. Bond was set at $50,000.

Falcon was released on Dec. 16 after posting bond.

On Nov. 24, Falcon allegedly was armed as he entered the Dripping Springs Grocery at 601 U.S. 290 and demanded money. At about the moment when a clerk complied and handed Falcon a bag of money, a customer wrestled with Falcon for his weapon. The shotgun went off and Falcon fled to a waiting vehicle, leaving the shotgun and the money in the store.

The HCSO criminal investigations division began its investigation on Dec. 15, arresting Falcon that day and placing him in the Hays County Jail.
