A Hays County jury heard opening arguments Tuesday afternoon at the onset of Buda real estate broker Jason Tarr’s trial on murder and intoxication manslaughter charges.

Jennifer Stalbaum, who is prosecuting the case with District Attorney Wes Mau, said testimony will show that Tarr was drunken driving when he caused a 2014 wreck that killed Nancy Sterling Dalton on FM 1626 near the Travis County line. Defense attorney Billy McNabb said Tarr was distracted but not drunk at the time of the wreck.

207th State District Judge Jack Robison is presiding over the trial.

  1. We live in a society that is increasingly punitive and draconian, with little consideration toward positibe reform and forgiveness.
