FROM SUBMITTED REPORTS

The Texas Department of Transportation will host an open house for the proposed improvements of Interstate 35 at Texas 123 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at San Marcos High School, located at 2601 E. McCarty Lane in San Marcos.

Proposed improvements on the approximate $107 million project would reconstruct and improve the Texas 123 traditional interchange; reconstruct the Interstate 35 main lanes over the Texas 123/Guadalupe Street bridge; add extended entrance/exit lanes to the main lanes and frontage roads; perform ramp reversals and ramp modifications along the north and southbound frontage road between Texas 80 and Ranch Road 12; reconstruct portions of the north and southbound frontage roads, and reconstruct the frontage road bridges over Willow Springs Creek and the San Marcos River; and construct bicycle and pedestrian improvements.

The open house will allow citizens the opportunity to review and comment on the proposed project, which is part of the overall Mobility35 Program. Displays will be available for review and staff will be present to answer questions. No formal presentation will be given and attendees are invited to come-and-go at their convenience.

Those unable to attend the meeting in-person can offer input online at a virtual open house that will be available between Oct. 25 and Nov. 8, 2016 online here.
