Construction and other activities likely to affect traffic in San Marcos starting next week:

  • Ed JL Green Drive: From Sessom Street to Laurel Ridge, maintenance will start on July 6 – 29, weather permitting, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Please park your vehicle off the street or it may be towed at your own expense. City of San Marcos Streets Department, 512-393-8025
  • Sessom Drive at Peques Street: City contractor will be working in the area to install underground electrical conduit. One lane of westbound Sessom will be closed daily for construction at Peques Drive. The intermittent closure is currently scheduled during working hours until August 12.   • Laurel Road at Post Road: Closure will affect left lane eastbound from Laurel Sreet. through the Post Road intersection, including the center turn lane, to prep and install proposed storm system on July 18 – 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Also, right lane east bound will be affected on July 20 and 21 with daytime closures ending on July 22.   • Laurel Road at Charles Austin Drive: Right lane westbound closure heading to the Charles Austin intersection to lay remaining asphalt will commence on July 14 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. TxDOT, 512-905-3097
  • East San Antonio Street: Every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Half a block of street closed from the alley to N. LBJ for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512-393-8430

Long-term road projects

  • 817 Chesnut Street: One lane will be closed for new construction to site through end of July 2016. Street will continue to be passable to all traffic. J4 Development, 469-236-0922
