Thirty San Marcos children and teens have been learning the lyrics, lines and moves to Richard Rodger’s and Oscar Hammerstein’s Broadway classic “Oklahoma!” during the past 11 days to prepare for nine performances beginning Friday.
The opening night performance begins at 7:30 p.m. June 17 at the Price Center’s historic 1910 Room, 222 W. San Antonio St. Eight additional performances will be held this weekend and next.
The cast consists of students of Lee Colee’s annual musical theatre boot camp for aspiring “triple-threat” performers that perform some of the composer duo’s best, including “People Will Say We’re In Love,” “Kansas City,” “Oh, What A Beautiful Morning,” “The Surrey With The Fringe on Top” and the title song, “Oklahoma.”
