San Marcos Mercury | Local News from San Marcos and Hays County, Texas

This in from city of Kyle spokesperson Kim Hilsenbeck:

Kyle police have confirmed the existence of four arrest warrants for the offense of manslaughter for Wilson Rene Molinares in connection with a vehicle accident on Feb. 19 that took the lives of four people including a 16-month-old boy. Kyle police sought and were granted those warrants from Hays County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Beth Smith.

Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said his department is coordinating the execution of the warrants, taking into account Molinares’s medical condition and the ability to conduct the book-in and subsequent arraignment process. Barnett added that KPD is aware of Molinares’s location at all times.

This is currently the only information the City of Kyle and its police department will release about the case; no comments, statements or interviews will be granted at this time as the investigative process is ongoing. If more information becomes available, the city’s communications department will release it. We appreciate your understanding.

Most recent info I could find, was a report in the Hays Free Press on Feb. 24 that said JP Beth Smith had issued a search warrant to draw Molinares’ blood. I’ll see if I can find out more and update as soon as possible.
