SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man was arrested on Thursday after a missing disabled San Marcos woman was found at his home.On Aug. 20, San Marcos and San Antonio police located 30-year-old Melody Renfro at a house on Stone River Road shared by 24-year-old Devend Christopher Bell and his mother, city spokesperson Kristi Wyatt said. Bell is described as Renfro’s ex-boyfriend.
Renfro, who has been diagnosed with an intellectual disability, had been missing since mid-day Aug. 8 when she left her job at a Taco Bell near San Marcos Premium Outlets. She was returned to her parents unharmed on Thursday, nearly two weeks later, Wyatt said.
Bell and his mother were initially cooperative with the investigation into Renfro’s disappearance, but became less helpful as the investigation continued, Wyatt said.
On Thursday evening, Bell was arrested on a charge of interfering with the rights of a guardian, a state jail felony that can carry a sentence of six months to two years confinement and a $10,000 fine. He is being held at the Bexar County jail.
