KYLE — The Hays County Historical Commission will collect historical images of the city of Kyle during a photo roundup event 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 at Kyle City Hall, 100 Center Street.

“With the restoration of the historic Kyle railroad depot, the lack of photos depicting early Kyle has become very apparent,” Hays County Historical Commission chair Kate Johnson said. “We need photos of early Kyle, including events, street scenes, railroad, transportation and businesses so that the history of the community is not lost. All photos will be appreciated.”

The commission is particularly interested in photos from the 1880s through the 1950s, Johnson said. The photos will be scanned on-site and given back to the owner.
