LULING — The Kiwanis Club of Luling is hosting a Turkey Shoot competition beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at Kiwanis Ranch, 260 Rudolph Road between Luling and Stairtown in Caldwell County.

Proceeds from contestants’ $25 entry fees will benefit the Kiwanis’ scholarship program and other youth activities.

During the shoot-and-out competition, shooters who don’t break a target during any of the first ten stations can buy back in for $5. The winner will be the last shooter to break a clay on the final statin. The prize is $50.

Bucket and card drawings will be held for cash and for prizes that include jewelry; baseball caps; knives and leather sheathes; a $50 Dairy Queen gift certificate; a $50 gift certificate for H-E-B; and a $250 gift certificate for Brushy Creek Outdoors sporting goods in Luling.
