FROM SUBMITTED REPORTS
The Price Center will host a weekly interactive health and wellness program presented by Central Texas Medical Center’s CREATION Health Institute beginning next month.
To be led each week by CTMC clinicians and experts, Wellness Wednesday at The Price Center will be held 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 15 to Sept. 9. Admission is free.
“Active aging is the core of the Price Center’s philosophy and programming. … We are very pleased to be partnering with CTMC to bring these helpful programs and services to our members and the greater downtown community,” said Ron Jager, president of the Greater San Marcos Area Seniors Association, which operates the Price Center at 222 W. San Antonio St.
The nine-week CREATION Health series will feature free health screenings and seminars on topics that include improved balance, diabetes education; nutrition; and blood glucose and blood pressure checks.
Current “active aging” programs at the Price Center include weekly bridge games, a weekly quilting club, monthly porcelain painters club, community-based musical and dramatic theatrical performances, musical performances, social gatherings, dance classes and weekly chair yoga classes.
Because seating is limited, reservations are required for the Wellness Wednesday program. For information, call the CREATION Health Institute at 512-753-3818.
