After being rained out last week, the city of San Marcos’ Movies in Your Park series continues with “Enchanted” at sunset Tuesday, June 23 at San Marcos Plaza Park.

Released in by Walt Disney Pictures in 2007, “Enchanted” is a live action and animated musical that pays homage to, and parodies, classics in the Disney cannon including “The Little Mermaid”, “Bambi”, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and “Sleeping Beauty.”

Pre-movie activities for children begin at 7:30 p.m. and the movie begins as soon as the sun has set. Moviegoers should bring blankets and lawn chairs to the park, 206 North CM Allen Parkway.

Hosted by the city of San Marcos Parks & Recreation department, the series is sponsored by Grande Communications, Walton Development & Management, The Hitch and Mensor Corp. Concessions are offered by Texas State University’s Association of Recreation Enthusiasts.

The Hays-Caldwell Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse will have a table set up with an activity for the youth. Texas State University public relations students will be collecting new and used athletic, casual and dress shoes as part of the “Old Soles Never Die” drive for flood victims.
