FROM STAFF REPORTS

San Antonio-based H-E-B Grocery Co. has issued a recall of three of its store brand chorizo and spiced pork products after they were found to contain unlabeled peanut allergens.

Recalled products include:

H-E-B brand bulk chorizo tray packs with a “sell by” date between Nov. 4 and Dec. 28;

H-E-B brand retail chorizo tray packs with a “sell by” date between Oct. 25 and Jan. 4; and

H-E-B brand cyrovac pork al pastor with a “sell by” date between Oct. 31 and Jan. 9.

No one has reported becoming sick from the products, company spokesperson Dya Campos said, but executives decided to offer refunds on the meats “in an abundance of caution.”

People with allergies or sensitivity to peanuts “run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products,” Campos said.

For information, call H-E-B between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 210-938-8357 or 1-800-432-3113.
