The San Marcos Police Department is accepting donations of money and new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 12 for its annual Blue Santa toy drive.

Toy donations may be delivered to the San Marcos Police Department, 2300 S. Interstate 35, or any of the various businesses hosting Blue Santa donation barrels. Monetary donations may be taken to the San Marcos Police Department through Dec. 12.

The Blue Santa program has been delivering toys to children who might not otherwise have Christmas gifts in San Marcos since 1972. People wishing to volunteer for this year’s event can help wrap gifts from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25; Wednesday, Dec. 3; Wednesday, Dec. 10; Monday, Dec. 15; and Wednesday, Dec. 17. Toy pickup is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19. Those toys not picked up will be delivered on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Blue Santa applications can be found at the San Marcos Police Department, Southside Community Center, Texas Department of Health and Human Services or at the program’s website here.
