Nancy Jo Jennings, 1940 to 2014

BUDA — Nancy Jo Jennings, a 74-year-old Buda resident, died on Thursday, July 24. She was born on February 29, 1940 in Austin to Roy Cox and Mary Ruth Park Brooks.

Jennings graduated McCallum High School in Austin and attended Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton.

Jennings is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Morcombe Peck, and her husband, Jeffrey Bennett Peck, of Dale; granddaughter Amanda Jo Morcombe and future grandson-in-law, Jeffrey C. Davey, of Kyle; and grandson Cailer Jeffrey (CJ) Morcombe Peck of Kyle.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Diane Morcombe, and by her first love, Laton Eugene Morcombe.

A celebration of Jennings’s life will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 at Harrell Funeral Home, 1715 Kirby Drive in Kyle. A private graveside service for family members will be held in the coming days at Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Austin.
