LOCKHART — Vivian Mable Petrosky Lann Crupper, a 96-year-old Uhland native who most recently lived in Lockhart, died on Sunday, July 13.
One of seven children, Crupper was born June 12, 1918 on the family farm in Caldwell County to Bruno Joe Petrosky and Clara Emma Rohde Petrosky.
After graduating from high school, Crupper moved to Austin where she met her future husband, Oscar Cecil Lann, to whom she was married after a brief courtship. Oscar and Vivian Lann had three children: Gail Lann Kirk, now of Martindale; Eileen Lann Rexroad of Tampa, Fla.; and Colleen Lann Moore of Coppell.
Crupper was remarried in 1961 to Robert P. Crupper with whom she moved for a few years to San Angelo. Upon returning to Austin, she worked at Marie Antoinette, a ladies clothing store in downtown Austin where she was was employed for 20 years until retirement. In her last years, she lived at Chisholm Trail Nursing Home in Lockhart.
Crupper was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Austin for many years and later moved her membership to Kinney Avenue Baptist Church, also in Austin. She was active in her Sunday School class as part of both congregations. She loved to cook for friends and family and invariably prepared meals for neighbors when they fell ill.
In addition to her three daughters, Crupper is survived by nine grandchildren and their families: Stephen Kirk of Caldwell; Kenneth Kirk of Austin; Mark Kirk of Elgin; Denise Kirk of Brookings, S.D.; Kevin Rexroad of Tampa, Fla.; David Rexroad of Tampa, Fla.; Shelley Rexroad Dowdy of Tampa Fla.; Kaitlyn Moore Sevilla of Coppell; and Jessica Moore of Coppell. She also leaves behind 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Malinde Petrosky Bluhm Sorrells, Mildred Petrosky, Wilson Petrosky, Beatrice Petrosky Schmidt Daugherty, Bruno Richard Petrosky and Leonard Petrosky.Email | Print
