Alice Louise Britt, a 77-year-old San Marcos resident, died on Tuesday, July 1. She was born May 23, 1937 in Houston to Johnny Britt and Alice (Hall) Britt.
Britt attended schools in Louisiana and Texas, graduating from I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth in 1956, the same year she married the late Leroy Fisher. During her lifetime, she worked as a mother, teacher’s aide, makeup artist, licensed esthetician, interior decorator, gardener, painter, masseuse and volunteer for the elderly.
Britt is survived by her four children: Renaldo Fisher; Dwayne Fisher; Vanessa Jones and her husband, Glen Jones Sr.; and Annetta Fisher.
Britt is also survived by 10 grandchildren Danielle Fisher; Marlon White and his wife, Nikki; Jason Fisher; Jaron Fisher; Glen Jones Jr. and his wife, Maricela; Sanoma Jones; Darrin Jones; Koury Jones and his wife, Samantha; and Jordan Fisher. She also leaves behind nieces Betty Jo Miles and her husband, Charles; Sundra Spears; Sherley Spears; and Letha Collier; as well as a number of other family members and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Leroy Fisher and Weldon Hatch; sister Jackie Spears; and nephew John Owens Sr.
Services will be held at noon on Saturday, July 12 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1906 Interstate 35 North in San Marcos. Arrangements made through Thomason Funeral Home in San Marcos.Email | Print
