Central Texas Medical Center awarded $1,000 scholarships to ten high school seniors from Hays and Caldwell counties — six of whom attend San Marcos schools — at a reception on May 13. San Marcos recipients are:


Luz Maria Solis, a San Marcos High School graduate who plans to attend Texas State University and become a registered nurse;

Shelby Scott, the San Marcos High School valedictorian and National Honor Society president who plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in biology;

Lluvia DeLaRosa, a San Marcos High School graduate who plans to attend Texas State University, major in biology and become a veterinarian;

Nina Marie Zamora, a San Marcos High School graduate, certified nursing assistant and CTMC volunteer who plans to attend Texas State University and become a nurse practitioner;

Alexis Mueller, a San Marcos High School graduate who plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin, major in education and become a licensed counselor;

Franklin Linam, the Hill Country Christian School valedictorian who plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in biology.

Other area scholarship recipients are Krishna Wimberly, a Lockhart High School graduate; Jesse Supernaw, a Jack C. Hays High School graduate; Clara Ramirez, a Lehman High School graduate; and Stephen Maxwell, a Wimberley High School graduate.

CTMC has been awarding scholarships to local high school seniors since 1997.
