SEGUIN — Wanda O’Neal Tumlinson, a 76-year-old San Marcos resident and former Seguin resident, passed away on Tuesday, May 20. Known as “Meme” to family and friends, Tumlinson was born December 2, 1937 in De Leon to Lowell O’Neal and Theda (Dixon) O’Neal.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd “Sonny” Tumlinson Jr., to whom she was married for 58 years, and by three children: Patti Morrow; Mike Tumlinson and his wife, Karen; and Sandra McCallister and her husband, Bobby. She is also survived by a brother and two sisters: Jim O’Neal and his wife, Connie; Barbara Pogue and her husband, Charlie; and Kathy Tumlinson.
Other surviving family members include grandchildren Michael Tumlinson Jr.; Justin Elliott and his wife, Amanda; Kristina Kissiar and her husband, Jeff; Ryan McCallister and his wife, Chelsea; Nikki Loftice and her husband, Trent; and Kourtney Tumlinson. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Ronan, Kaylie, Karsyn and Trinity, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tumlinson was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Scott McCallister and Jayme Tumlinson; son-in-law John Morrow; nephew Timmy O’Neal; and her father- and mother-in-law, Lloyd Tumlinson Sr. and Marie Tumlinson.
Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 23 at Tres Hewell Mortuary, 165 Tor Drive in Seguin.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at the funeral home’s chapel with the Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Burial will follow at the Sutherland Springs Cemetery, located on FM 539 near Sutherland Springs in Wilson County.
