SUBMITTED REPORT
The San Marcos City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission will hold an informational workshop on the La Cima development at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21 at the Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins St.
La Cima is a proposed 2,031 acre development on Ranch Road 12 west of San Marcos. Formerly known as Lazy Oaks Ranch, the La Cima development team has purchased an additional 635 acres of the former Freeman Ranch to include about a half-mile of frontage on Ranch Road 12 at the intersection of Wonder World Drive and Old Ranch Road 12.
Proposed development for the 2,031 acres includes a variety of single family residential options, open space or habitat preservation areas, and 200 acres of future general commercial zoning to include a potential corporate campus.
An application to amend the Lazy Oaks Ranch development agreement approved by city council in February 2013 has been received by the city. The Planning & Zoning Commission and City Council will hold public hearings to consider the petition to negotiate the amended agreement as follows:
Approval of the current petition application by council on June 3 would allow staff to begin negotiations with the developer. The final amended development agreement would then be presented to council for consideration following completion of negotiations.
The meeting will be recorded and rebroadcast at a later time.
Just sitting her and listening to the developer’s presentation. He has promised everyone everything that they could ever possible want. I smell a rotten deal that is not good for anyone.
