STAFF AND SUBMITTED REPORT
San Marcos police are asking for help identifying two men who robbed the Sac-N-Pac convenience store at 1636 Aquarena Springs Drive at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Surveillance video released by investigators shows a young man run into the store and jump over the counter, pointing a revolver at the two female clerks. A second man, armed with a rifle, guarded the store’s entrance.
“Hurry up! Hurry up now and you won’t get hurt,” one of the man said as an employee scrambled to open two cash registers.
The second employee hunkered on the ground during the robbery, which lasted less than 30 seconds from the time the men entered the store until the they left. As the suspects stormed in, one customer took off running toward the bathroom area while a second man stood nearby watching the episode, acting nonchalant and appearing only mildly curious.
The robbers were last seen running toward the State Flats apartments, located at 1640 Aquarena Springs Drive, according to San Marcos police Cmdr. Penny Dunn, who heads the department’s criminal investigation division.
The robbers are believed to be Latino men in their late teens or early 20s. Both were wearing black hoodies, black pants and black shoes and both concealed their faces with black masks.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the criminal investigations division at 512-753-2300 during business hours or 512-753-2108 after 5 p.m. Informants can also call Hays County Crime Stoppers at 512-353-TIPS or 1-800-324-8477.
