STAFF REPORT

Fearing he will strike again if he isn’t caught, San Marcos police investigators are asking for help identifying a suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint six weeks ago in a parking lot at the Riverside Ranch apartments.

At about 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, the victim was getting out of his truck near building No. 3 in the apartment complex at 1805 Aquarena Springs Drive. He was approached from behind by the suspect who pointed a snub-nosed .38-caliber revolver at the victim and demanded his wallet and cell phone. The man turned over the property and the suspect fled on foot; he was last seen running between buildings No. 2 and No. 3 in the direction of a parking lot.

San Marcos police are seeking help from the public identifying the robber, who the victim could describe only as a heavyset Latino man. Hays County Crime Stoppers is offering an award of up to $1,000 for information that assists police in arresting the suspect.
