DRIFTWOOD — Pearl Ruston, 98, of Driftwood died Thursday, April 10. She was born January 13, 1916 in Driftwood to Edward and Fannie McIntyre.

Ruston is survived by a sister, Nelda Lewis of Angelton; a son, Ira Wesley “Pete“ Ruston and his wife, Joyce, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Ruston of Driftwood; a sister-in-law, Bersha McIntyre of Dripping Springs; a grandson; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaugther.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ira Ruston; a son, Roy Ruston; a granddaughter, Christi Garrett; brothers Ferguson McIntyre, Elwood McIntyre, Edward McIntyre and Bobby McIntyre; and a sister, Birdie Mae Bell.

Ruston is described by family members as a faithful Christian who enjoyed crocheting and making pralines.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail in Austin. Interment will follow at the Phillips Cemetery, located at the intersection of Ranch Road 12 and FM 150 near Dripping Springs.
