KYLE — A Buda man charged with killing 20-year-old Ulisis Garcia of Kyle turned himself in to the Travis County jail on Tuesday.
Xavier Harper, 20, is being held on a $1 million bond and is expected to be brought back to Hays County sometime this week, Hays County sheriff’s Sgt. Phillip Taylor said. He is charged with murder, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison.
A Kyle man, 20-year-old Onesimo Alvarado, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the fracas that left Garcia and two others stabbed; he is still in jail on bail set at $200,000. A third Kyle man is charged with providing alcohol to a minor and tampering with evidence.
Garcia, a Kyle native, worked in San Antonio installing solar panels but had returned home for the weekend. He attended a party in the Sunset Acres neighborhood off Beebee Road Saturday night that rambled into early Sunday, March 23.
Sometime after midnight, the three men were stabbed. Garcia died at Seton Medical Center Hays shortly after arriving at the hospital, Sgt. Phillip Taylor said the next day. The sheriff’s office has declined to identify the two other stabbed men nor say how badly they were injured.
