Jesus C. Mendoza, 1942 to 2014

Jesus C. Mendoza, 71, of San Marcos, died April 3. He was born November 8, 1942 in Vernon to Antonio and Guadalupe Mendoza.

Mendoza is survived by his wife, Catarina “Lina” Salazar, to whom he married for more than 52 years, and by four daughters: Rosalinda Perez and her husband, Jose, of San Marcos; Suzanne Patlan and Adrian Elizarraras of San Marcos; Ann Maria Delarosa and her husband, Fabian, of San Marcos; and Elizabeth Mendoza and her husband, Juan Carlos Tadeo, of San Marcos. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by three brothers and a sister: Antonio Mendoza Jr. and his wife, Lydia, of San Marcos; Celedonio Mendoza and his wife, Ofelia, of San Marcos; Joe Manuel Mendoza of Buda; and Anita Blake and her husband, Jerry, of Daneville. Mendoza was preceded in death by daughter Maria Virginia Mendoza.

A recitation of the holy rosary was held 7 p.m. Sunday, April 6 as part of visitation at Thomason Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, followed by interment at San Juan Cemetery in Reedville.
