The Spazmatics, a Texas-based band popular for its covers of 1980s New Wave favorites, will perform on Thursday, March 20 to open the city’s Spring Concert Series at San Marcos Plaza Park, 210 N. CM Allen Pkwy.
Sponsored by Keep San Marcos Beautiful and the city’s Parks and Recreation department, Thursday’s events will start at 6:30 p.m. with a recycled art competition. Then The Spazmatics will perform two 45-minute sets.
People are invited to bring lawn chairs to free concert. People of legal drinking age are allowed to bring alcohol, but park rules forbid the use of tobacco products, Styrofoam and glass.
The Health City Task Force is providing free snacks including Blue Bell Ice Cream and local and regional artists will be on-hand to display and sell their works.
