NEW BRAUNFELS — A seven-year-old boy died Monday afternoon after apparently riding an electric scooter into the path of a Ford F-250 pickup truck in eastern New Braunfels’ riverside Southbank neighborhood.

Amin Snider, a New Braunfels resident, was found dead on Stratford Grace street when police and firefighters arrived at the accident site shortly after 4 p.m Jan. 20, New Braunfels police Capt. John McDonald said. Snider was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Doeppenschmidts Funeral Home.

The pickup truck’s driver, a 54-year-old Seguin man, was not arrested or cited after officers’ investigation determined that the boy rode the scooter into traffic, McDonald said. Police do not believe the driver had been drinking or that he was speeding at the time, McDonald said.
