The San Marcos High School boys basketball team began its season Tuesday night with a solid 63-51 win at Bowie.

The Rattlers bounced out to a 21-14 lead through one quarter and Bowie crept back during the next two quarters without taking control of the game. Through three quarters, the Rattlers lead was down to 42-41.

But the Rattlers came back with a strong fourth quarter to take total command, scoring 21 points.

Josh Coleman led the Rattlers with 15 points, followed by Jarrett Henderson witn 13 and Isaiah Brown with 10.

The Rattlers, 1-0, will play their home opener Friday night against Cedar Ridge.
