The Texas State volleyball team went to Louisiana during the weekend and didnt lose a set in two matches.

After sweeping at Louisiana-Monroe (ULM) Friday, the Bobcats swept at Louisiana-Lafayette (ULL) Monday by scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-20. The Bobcats are up to 20-11 overall and a third-place 10-6 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Freshman Shelby Vas Matt led the team in kills with 10 to go with a .318 hitting percentage and eight digs. Amari Deardorff and Alexandra Simms had nine kills each. Caylin Mahoney gave out 29 assists with nine digs and three kills. Ali Hubicsak and Sierra Smith paced Texas State with 11 digs each.

Despite the sweep, the match could have gone either way. Texas State led each set 22-20 and closed out each set with three straight points.

The Bobcats will travel to Arkansas this coming weekend, the final weekend of the regular season. Friday, they go to Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR) for 7 p.m. match against the league’s second-place team (12-4). Next Sunday, the Bibcats will play at Arkansas State (1 p.m.).

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament will take place at Troy Nov. 21-23.
