Texas State’s volleyball team played another five-set match Friday night and lost at South Alabama. The scores were 26-28, 25-18, 20-25, 25-23 and 20-18.

Amari Deardorff led the Bobcats offensively with 17 kills to three errors, while Alexandra Simms caught fire in the back half of the match to finish with 15 kills and two errors. Ashlee Hilbun added 10 kills, while Molly Ahrens tallied nine.

Caylin Mahoney doubled up with 44 assists and 11 digs. Shelby Vas Matt and Kelsey Weynand combined for 22 digs.

The Bobcats now are in the Sun Belt Conference and 15-10 overall. South Alabama is 3-7 and 8-12.

The Bobcats play Sunday at Troy (noon). Troy is 4-6 and 9-15.
