A daily rundown of live entertainment in and around San Marcos tonight, compiled by Mercury Scene Editor Hap Mansfield and our content partners at San Marcos Tonight.
Every once in a while, someone’s talent is so charming, warm, tuneful and electrifying that one just has to holler about it. We are hollerin’ for Alison Self, singer/songwriter, ukulele/guitarist and all around marvel. Her big clear voice harkens back to Patsy Kine or Loretta Lynn but her covers range the gamut from W.C. Handy to Neutral Milk Hotel. She is pearl, a treasure and a delight. She will be at Wake the Dead Coffeehouse tonight at 9 p.m. Foscoe Jones Band will be recording live at the Cheatham Street Warehouse tonight, too, around 11 p.m.
