City launches phone app

The City of San Marcos has introduced SMTX Connect, a mobile app that gives residents and visitors access to important city information, allows them to report issues, and tracks their requests online and via their mobile phones.

The service is available for Apple, Android and Blackberry devices, and can be accessed online at

SMTX Connect gives residents several options for reporting issues and users are able to add comments to further describe issues they have reported. People can track their requests, support other requests and receive status updates via push notifications from the city.

The app also has icons that give residents access to city events, emergency information, and much more. It also supports multiple languages through the One Voice – Instant Translation feature, enabling all San Marcos residents to access city services and submit requests in their native languages automatically from their smart phones.
