The Texas State volleyball team is 12-5 overall and 2-0 in the Sun Belt Conference as it approaches two road matches this weekend (Texas State sports information photo).

Texas State’s volleyball team goes on the road this weekend to play a couple of early ice-breakers in the Sun Belt Conference.

The Bobcats will play Friday at defending Sun Belt Conference champion Western Kentucky (6 p.m.), then they will play at Georgia State on Sunday (noon).

Western Kentucky (WKU) is 3-0 in the Sun Belt, tied with Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR). Texas State and Texas-Arlingon (UTA) both are 2-0.

Georgia State is 0-3 in the Sun Belt.

WKU has won seven straight matches. In three conference matches against Troy, South Alabama and Georgia State, Western Kentucky has yet to lose a set. Against Texas State, the Hill Toppers will seek their 30th consecutive Sun Belt Conference victory.

The Bobcats have never played WKU. They have split two meetings with Georgia State, which won the last one on Aug. 31, 2007.

Texas State won its last match on Sept. 30 at Strahan Coliseum, a three-set decision against Louisiana-Monroe that went 25-19, 25-16, 25-14.

The Bobcats are 12-5 overall.
