The rockinest and rowdiest of Rockabilly will be played by Turbo 350 at Riley’s Tavern for the seminal roadhouse’s 80th anniversary party. Also on the bill is a plethora of talent including John Casner, Manzy Lowry, Bryce Courmier, Steven Roloff, Austin Mayse, Mark Sebby, Kyle Reed, Amanda Cevallos, Mark Allan Atwood, Shannon Lee Nelson Band and Luke Adair and the Big Bills. The place has been a rockin’ Texas landmark ever since J.C. Riley got the first beer license after prohibition in September of 1933 (he slept on the steps of the Capitol waiting for the office to open!). Go on out, congratulate them and enjoy the fabulous music which starts at 3 p.m. today and goes on until the cows come home, or maybe even a bit later.
On September 14 at 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., behind The Hitch Mobile Eatery, 312 E. Hopkins at C.M. Allen Parkway. Outdoor market of local artists’ paintings, sculpture, yard art, pottery, crafts, jewelry, culinary arts from The Hitch and live music.
