Texas State has named Louis E. Jimenez as its registrar, effective Sept. 9.
Jimenez will oversee a staff of seven in the registrar’s office at Texas State, serving a student population of nearly 35,000.
Jimenez comes to Texas State from the University of Alabama, where he served as senior assistant university registrar in Tuscaloosa, supervising a staff of 13 and overseeing more than 34,000 students.
Before his tenure at Alabama, Jimenez held administrative positions at Edison College in Fort Myers, FL, Auburn University, Kentucky State University, St. Philip’s College in San Antonio, and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, among others.
Jimenez earned his industrial technology BS in 1988 from Southern Illinois University and his MS in management in 1990 from Troy University.
