Tonight’s Best Bet

Well, of course it’s the Bobcat’s home opener tonight as they take on Prairie View A&M on the Jim Wacker Field gridiron at Bobcat Stadium. The first home game always seems like the official start of autumn; football, Frito pies, marching bands, cheering crowds and all. After the game why not stop by Cheatham Street Warehouse for a bit of music from Tom Gilliam? Gilliam (pictured) seems to be channeling a radio that plays three different programs at once; you’ll get a bit of 70’s Allman Brothers style rock, a bit of Waylon Jennings and a bit of Wilco all swirling around a slide guitar or two. The music starts up around 10:30 p.m. so you won’t miss a lick of football.
