Jazz and Latin trumpeter, vocalist, percussionist and composer Pete Rodriguez has guested on a handful of the Grammy award-winning albums of musical legends such as Tito Puente, Johnny Pacheco and Celia Cruz but it’s Rodriguez’ own inimitable trumpet style that will blow you away (pun intended). His gigs at the Austin jazz club Elephant Room have garnered many fans and much critical acclaim. He is the new director of Orquesta del Rio Salsa Ensemble at Texas State. You can see and hear him do his stuff at the Music Building Recital Hall on the campus of Texas State at 8 p.m. tonight.
