The Damn Quails are Red Dirt/Country artists (pictured) with a passionate cadre of fans. Their gritty style and haunting songs are crowd charmers. They will be at Cheatham Street Warehouse tonight. Joel Hoffman Band is always a pleasure at Riley’s Tavern and Kabomba! will get the weekend started with an energizing bang at the Triple Crown. Samuel Barker of The Wayward Sons will play a solo show at Wake the Dead Coffeehouse. It’s another great night for music fans in San Marcos.
The City of San Marcos will host an afternoon of festivities welcoming Texas State University students downtown at the interactive event “Passport to San Marcos” from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, on the square in downtown San Marcos.
