STAFF REPORT

Hays County commissioners recently changed the name of a portion of East McCarty Lane to Rattler Road, thus meeting county 911 street addressing guidelines.

County Development Services Department Director Clint Garza told the court that a realignment of East McCarty Lane will result in a small segment no longer intersecting with CR 266, also known as Old Bastrop Highway. Because that segment will line up with a segment of existing Rattler Road, Garza said, it makes sense to change the name of that segment to Rattler Road.

Garza said that the address numbers for the properties on that part of the road would not change and that property owners have been asked if they objected to the name change.

The Hays County Transportation Department has completed changing road signs in the area.
