Of course, you can opt for high drama with EmilyAnn’s Shakespeare Under the Stars production of Julius Caesar. Need more than that? Lucky for you, you are in San Marcos, where music flows like the river she embraces. Well, how about dropping in to the Cheatham Street Warehouse to celebrate the release of the legendary Earl Poole Ball’s latest CD? Just a short list of the music luminaries with whom he has played includes Merle Haggard, Glen Campbell, Linda Ronstadt, Buck Owens and the Buckaroos, Marty Robbins, Mickey Gilley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Gram Parsons, The Byrds and Johnny Cash. A member of the all-star band Heybale! Earl Poole Ball is one of those folks you’ll brag about seeing for decades to come. The festivities start up at 9 p.m.

The EmilyAnn Theatre & Gardens bring Shakespeare Under the Stars back again this summer, with a phenomenal cast of high school students performing Julius Caesar, directed by Bridget Farias, set in a post-apocalyptic world. Shakespeare’s great political thriller tells the story of the conspiracy against Caesar, his assassination and the defeat of his conspirators.
