Texas State’s athletic department has announced two changes affecting ticket holders for football games in 2013.

Fand with tickets now will be allowed to exit and re-enter the stadium beginning at halftime. Fans must have their tickets or student IDs “exit scanned” upon leaving to be eligible to re-enter. Fans exiting before halftime must purchase new tickets to re-enter. Each fan may only have one ticket/ID exit scanned per-person.

However, fans can be readmitted before halftime under special circumstances or emergencies. Texas State athletics department representatives will be at each gate to assist with those special requests.

Also, fans bringing umbrellas to the stadium now will be allowed to take the umbrellas to their seats. College and professional football teams have for years required umbrellas to be gate checked, as open umbrellas obstruct the views of ticket holders sitting behind them.

“We listened to our fans on these two issues and wanted to be more fan friendly,” Texas State athletics director Larry Teis said. “We will try these two changes for this season and, if they are successful, we will make them permanent.”
