Early bird registration already has passed for the annual economic outlook luncheon put on by local business interests, but those interested in attending can still do so with an RSVP by June 14.
The luncheon, scheduled for June 27, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel and San Marcos Conference Center, is jointly sponsored by the Greater San Marcos Partnership, Texas State’s McCoy College of Business Administration, Texas State’s Small Business Development Center and the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce.
The guest speakers will be Southwest Airlines Vice-President for Airport Affairs Bob Montgomery and Bloomberg Brief Senior Economist Richard Yamarone. Texas State Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Eugene Bourgeois will give the opening remarks. The event will wrap-up with a special Q&A session moderated by William Chittenden, Department Chair and Associate Professor of Finance at Texas State.
Montgomery will talk about the role that vibrant and successful airports and related aviation industries play in the economic development of a community, as well as best practices of developing a vibrant airport and aviation industry. Yamarone will speak about the current status of the U.S. economy and where he thinks it is heading, as well as the economy of the Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos MSA and where he believes it is heading.
The cost of registration is $65. The event sponsors say that cannot accept walk-ups or late registrations. The Greater San Marcos Partnership said no more sponsorship opportunities for the event are available.Email | Print
