Seven Texas State pitchers combined to allow only five hits Tuesday as the Bobcats tacked up a 7-3 win against Houston Baptist at Bobcat Field.
Kyle Finnegan, the second Texas State pitcher in the game, picked up the win and improved his mark to 4-2 after allowing one run in three innings.
Cory Geisler had two hits and two RBI for the Bobcats, while Austin O’Neal added two hits and Garrett Mattlage pitched in two RBI. The Bobcats scored three times in the third inning for a 4-1 lead and added two more runs in the sixth for a 6-1 lead.
Texas State is 21-23 after winning nine of its last 12 games. Houston Baptist is 20-23. The Bobcats go on the road this weekend for three games at Texas-San Antonio.
